About
Cookiebot is a Danish Consent Management Platform (CMP) developed by Cybot A/S, acquired by Usercentrics in 2021 but still operated as a distinct product. It automatically scans websites to detect cookies and trackers, generates a consent banner aligned with GDPR and ePrivacy requirements, and stores consent records for up to 12 months as required by data protection authorities. Cookiebot uses a crawler-based scanning approach that identifies third-party cookies your site sets, including those embedded by third-party scripts. It is one of the most widely deployed CMPs in Europe, particularly in Denmark, Germany, and the Nordics, and is recognised by EU data protection authorities as a compliant tool for managing cookie consent.
